I posted this a couple of days ago, but never saw it appear and I did not see it in the archive and so I am re-posting. I appologize if it's a duplicate. I am looking for information on the parents of Anna ARMSTRONG, b 19 Feb 1821 NJ, d 3 Feb 1890 Jackson Twp, Ocean, NJ. She married 12 Sep 1854 Charles Henry Appelget, b 8 Mar 1822 NJ, d 24 Dec 1889 Bennett's Mills, Ocean, NJ. Anna and Charles are both buried in the Harmony Methodist Church Cemetary, Jackson Twp, Ocean, NJ. The only information that I have on Anna's parents comes from her death certificate which states that they were Francis and Jane ARMSTRONG both born in Ireland. Can anybody provide some suggestions on how to research this? I believe that I had seen somewhere that ARMSTRONG is realy a Scottish name. So I guess this would make them what is termed Scotch-Irish? Thanks, Chris Stillwell P.S. If you're interested you can see a picture of Anna on my web site http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/cstillwell/gallery.htm ===== http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~cstillwell/ http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/cstillwell/ __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Is there a Death Index between 1850-1860 and after 1880? I am looking for family in Brick Township. I don't know the exact dates, I only know what census they no longer appear in. I am trying to narrow it down to obtain death certificates. Thank you. Linda
Hi All, Ed Raser's book is now available for sale by the GSNJ. A lengthy description of it appeared in the Spring, 2002 GSNJ Newsletter. Here are the most salient points: "This new publication of GSNJ is designed to: 1) identify, provide condition and historical details for, and give directions to existing and former graveyards in Monmouth County; 2) locate and describe relevant unpublished lists of gravestone inscriptions; and 3) provide citations to published versions of the gravestone transcriptions when they exist." What a wonderful resource! Judi in Virginia

Last week end, May 26, 2002 I attended the Ellisdale Methodist Church 150th anniversary celebration 1852-2002, where I attended as a child and my sister Margery Reuter and our parents still attend. They had a lot of memorabilia displayed including the old record books, which unfortunately are only complete going back to 1874 and not to 1852 when the church was formed. The church has been associated with Crosswicks, sharing ministers over the years. In the program handed out was a history of the church and it listed the ministers since the beginning. I will copy them here in hopes it may be useful to someone. I am posting this to Monmouth and Burlington Lists as the county line goes along the road in front of the church. The church and cemetery are in Burlington county, many members lived in Monmouth. Ellisdale was known as Shelltown until 1875.
