(Actually, according to the sequence of people on the page your ancestor is on, coming right after a couple of pages marked Fairview Village, the location was between Fairview and Chapel Hill in an area bounded on the north by Chapel Hill and Whippoorwill Valley Roads, to the east by Bowne Road, to the south by Cooper Road and to the west by the convergence of Chapel Hill and Cooper where it meets Rt. 35, just about two or three miles over the Navesink from Red Bank. The New Jersey Dept of Health (just since August 1) has relaxed the restrictions on getting some vital records again!! Check out the NJ Dept of Health, Vital Records website: http://www.state.nj.us/health/vital/vital.htm. You can get a copy of their brand new application form there. You can get the application in an Adobe format or in a Word document. As of August 1 - births over 80 years old are considered "genealogical" and the application form states that "you need only supply the name of the individual recorded on the vital record, the county where the event occurred, and the year the event occurred." The same is true for Marriages over 50 years old and Deaths over 40 years old. The copies will be uncertified copies and will be stamped "For Informational Purposes Only." They also promise to do searches of multiple years again as long as the records fall into the "genealogical" category. This is a major improvement over the recent restrictions and should make life much simpler for us all. You do need to submit a photocopy of your photo ID with your application - or "two approved non-photo IDs." Merrilee: Also, if you are local - Birth records through 1923 are available on microfilm at the NJ State Archives and you can look at them yourself for free. (Copies there are 50 cents.)

I have in my collection what appears to be researchers notes which have been microfilmed. there is a reference I've been seeking for a while now, with no success yet... --- Aug. 1, 1767. Joseph COX mtges 346 A. in Windsor tp. adj. Assanpink Brook, Thomas KIRBY, etc. (MxM 1:130) --I've been told the ref may have been incorrectly noted --- two others referencing deeds I've not yet found, which appear in a 1797 deed include... 'conveyed to the faid Thomas KIRBY from John COX Junr & Margaret his wife by deed bearing date the 12th October 1765' --- 'conveyed to the faid Thomas KIRBY from John PANCOAST and Sarah his wife by deed bearing date May 1st 1807' [must've been recorded after the death of the grantee in the 1797 deed] ------ if anyone has come across any of these deeds in their own research, or can help me try and locate them, I've been looking [long distance] for almost 20 years. they do not appear in NJA or Monmouth archives, and though I suspect East Jersey Proprietors may have been the last resting place, if so, they didn't survive the move to NJA... any of these may help me place my anc, Thomas KIRBY, as coming from somewhere eles to Monmouth Co. Hello Looking for information on Joel Clayton Palmer b. in Pennsylvania [?] 12/24/1815 and died in Monmouth Co. 6/8/1899 and married 1. Hannah Hayes and 2. Rhoda Bennett VanNote. He had 9 children by Hannah Hayes and 11 children by Rhoda Bennett. They married 8 Sept. 1878 in Millstone Township, Monmouth Co., NJ. I am descended from marriage to Rhoda Bennett--She was my grgrandmother. Joel served for a very short time in the Civil War. I am looking for information about Joel and his parents and back.
