    1. Re: [NJMON] obit lookup
    2. Hello, Her obit is in _The Matawan Journal_ issue dated 24 March 1904, page 1, column 2 (this from the wonderful index by the late Joseph Douglas Alt). The reference librarians at the Aberdeen Library have been very helpful to me in the past; if you send them the details and a small donation, (I usually send $5 per obit), I'm sure that they will make a copy for you. Good luck, Judi

    1. Carhart/Thorn & Allied Families
    2. I am part of the Thorn/Thorne line from Monmouth county. My grandmother, Minnie Thorne (born 1883) had a sister Sarah "Sadie" (born 1873) who married Elmer Carhart. I was in correspondance with Lowell Carhart and exchanging information for several years. Through our changes of email, I have lost his current address. I also have lost his Carhart GED file. Does anyone have an idea of how to locate him? Thanks Kyleen Jiannine Gavin

    3. FYI all -- it tells the receiver it bounced someone, and allows the message to be brought in, and lets you know you might request to be added to the list. Many work this way. You have been added to the list. You have been admitted to the ranks of the chosen. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Terri" <taire@webtv.net> To: <NJMONMOU-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, September 15, 2004 10:02 AM Subject: To Dick Harris > Ahhhhhh ......... the ole mysterious ancestor trick! :))). > I'll look for you. > > My original message to you was bounced --- I'm not on your "list". :) > > Terri > > ______________________________

    2. Terri
    3. Many thanks to all who responded to my question. Lots of good advice from you folks. A word about this roll I have -- it appears that the David Forman Reg. Militia is incomplete also ---- unless there were no 'A', 'B', (until Br) and 'C' fellas with him. I didn't realize this until going thru it today in search of requests, and the roll doesn't state it. I'll be borrowing more rolls in my search, so I'll let all know which one I've got. OH -- BTW -- there's two women listed on these rolls!! I'll get the names if someone's interested. Terri

    3. Genealogy.com has sent me a free 14 day offer ---- has anyone done this? Have there been any problems? I'm leary of submitting my credit card # for fear of a "foul up" that ends in me getting charged. Please answer directly to me as a run of messages about it may not fit the topic requirements. Thanks, Terri

    3. In a conversation I had with the pastor of the Middletown Dutch Reformed Church in 1970, he told me that that church had been founded when a ship headed for New Amsterdam was blown ashore on the New Jersey coast. The passengers found the Indians friendly, so stayed where they were washed up. If this is related to the Freehold church, though I don't know the dates, it may make it unlikely that your folks came from Staten Island. But not impossible, of course. All I can say is that all the Jersey shore churches were not founded by people from the New Amsterdam colony. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Pat Mount" <pmount@nre.umass.edu> To: <NJMONMOU-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, September 09, 2004 9:27 PM Subject: FW: {not a subscriber} Jacobus Janse JOHNSON and Antje VAN DYCK > ------ Forwarded Message > From: kevin stiles <stilesnk@hotmail.com> > Date: Thu, 09 Sep 2004 17:54:53 -0600 > To: dutch-colonies-l@rootsweb.com > Cc: njmonmou-l@rootsweb.com > Subject: {not a subscriber} Jacobus Janse JOHNSON and Antje VAN DYCK > > I am looking for more information on the parents of a Joseph Johnson who > was christened in the Freehold Dutch Reformed Chuch in Monmouth Co, NJ on > 26 JUL 1767, his parents are listed as Jacobus Janse JOHNSON and Antje VAN > DYCK.
