Myers, Special Collections Librarian at [email protected] She confirmes that they charge $25. EVERYONE COMPLAINS ABOUT NYC FEES BUT PLAINFIELD LIBRARY IS THE HIGHEST LIBRARY FEE OF ALL. NYC Libraries charge $8.00 with almost exact date. NYC MUNICIPAL ARCHIVES with old, handwritten copies charges $16. for two year search! FINDING YOUR GRANDMA"S DATE---Call the cemetery where her tombstone is. Tell them her name and year. They should be able to give you an exact INTERNMENT DATE. With that date, you know month and she probaly dies 2-3 days before that. The cemetery should give you her this date on the phone for free. Also ask them how manyare buried in that grave.
