    3. Jim and list, What is the time frame on these Thomas Davises? I have a mini-file on a Thomas Davis who purchased land in Fayette County, PA from a Miller family that I suspect traces back ultimately to the Woodbridge/Rahway area. Various Miller assoicated with those listed in the deed below lived in Union Co, Monmouth Co and Hunterdon Co. NJ and most moved to Fayette Co. PA in the 1790 time frame or before. Andrew Miller is my line but the wife of Andrew Jackle(Yeagley in the English spelling) was a Miller who first was married to an unknown Davis and later married Andrew Yeagley in Hunterdon Co. in 1787 before moving to Fayette Co. PA. The brother of Andrew Miller, Peter Miller Sr. married Tacy Maxson, daughter of Mosher Maxson and lived in Monmouth Co and then Union or Middlesex Co before moving to Fayette Co. in 1790. Mosher Maxson was a Quaker originally associated with the Maxsons and Davises in Monmouth Co. who belonged to the Shrewsbury Seveth Day Baptist Church. This church who moved to Fayette Co. from Monmouth Co in 1789. So if this fits in your Davis line, I am all ears. Mike Miller Bk I P-230 14 Apr 1812. Peter MILLER and Elizabeth, his wife, John MILLER, Thomas MATHEWS and Margaret, his wife, all of Dunbar Twp, Fayette Co., Pa., grant to Thomas DAVIS for $350 a lot of land being in the township of Dunbar adjoining the great road leading from Union Iron Works to Brownsville being a part of a larger tract called Liberty for which a patent was granted 30 Apr 1807 unto Peter & John MILLER in trust for the heirs of Andrew MILLER, deceased. Adjoining Andrew YEAGLEY, John LARIMORE, John DELANY, & Samuel FREY. Witnesses: Samuel FREY & Andrew JACKLE. Recorded 14 May 1814. Census and Tax History of Thomas Davis Name in Fayette Co. PA area. 1772 Thomas Davis on Bedford County Tax list for what is now Fayette Co. 1780 VA/PA land survey settle by arbritation commission as per 1783 deed text. 1783 Thomas Davis sold this land then in Westmoreland Co to John Gilcrist. Fay A-48 This land is very near the Miller Land patent. 1790 Thomas Davis listed on page 106 George Twp in Fayette Co. 1800 no Census listing for Thomas Davis 1810 Thomas Davis listed page 111 in Washington Twp. 1812-14 Thomas Davis purchases Miller land in Dunbar Twp. 1820 Thomas Davis listed Census page 126 in New Haven, a town in Dunbar Twp. 182? Thomas Davis died intestate or at least no will listed in Fayette Co. 1823 Thomas Davis has died, Lincoln purchase former Miller land owned from the Davis estate. 1830 no Thomas Davis listed in Fayette County.
