Hi Kim, Start with "died 14 FEB 1931", by requesting an obituary lookup, if you are unable to visit a library with newspaper archives. The Daily Home News in New Brunswick would be an excellent media. You could probably also obtain a death certificate form NJ. "living above an Hungarian grocery store" could possibly define the area as population dominated by Hungarian immigrants and descendants. This area is roughly bounded southeast by French St and Middlesex General Hospital, renamed as Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, northeast by St. Peters Hospital on Rt 527 and probably crosses the County line into Somerset County on the northwest.
Thank you so much for the information on the newspaper, the hospital and the immigrant neighborhood information. I have sent off for the death certificate and hopefully the time frame we have will lead to success in that area. I knew there would be someone out there to point me in the right direction. Thanks.
