received this from another list... this is an awesome resource! many people from Monmouth & Middlesex counties migrated to IL, including VOORHEES, VAUGHN, KIRBY, VAN HORNE, & many others. browse the alpha list... many offer the 'home county' in NJ. they named the county Jersey due to so many settlers coming from there. enjoy! and thanks to the awesome rootsweb folk who helped provide this online! --- fwd msg --- Sorry if you get this message more than once. Marty Crull has contributed his huge obituary database, over 6,000 obits! These are now online on the Jersey County GenWeb page under "Jersey County Obituaries." While almost all of the obits have a Jersey County connection, there are a fairly large number of entries for Greene and Madison counties. Also Macoupin and Calhoun. Some are also people who moved and later died elsewhere in Illinois. Marty's database did not have any entries for surnames beginning with H, I, J or S. There are only a few for these surnames and they are limited to Jersey County. http://www.rootsweb.com/~iljersey/obits/Obituaries.htm Just for your information.
