It sits on the South Branch of the Raritan River and is not much more than a crossroads village. Its larger sister, Neshanic Station, has more people and streets and is on the other side of the river. If you were to draw an East/West line between New Brunswick and Flemington on a map of New Jersey, Neshanic would be about two thirds of the way to the west toward Flemington.
