The Farley Blacksmith still stands in Johnson Park, as part of the East Jersey Olde Towne Village. I am currently developing the building into an exhibit about blacksmithing and the Farley family. The building was actively operated in New Brunswick until 1960, when it was moved to Johnson Park. It was also operational there for a short time. In the 1970s it became part of the East Jersey Olde Towne Village and has not been opened since. We plan to open it once again in late spring/early summer as a permanent exhibit. I have done quite a bit of research on the family connected directly with the shop. It was family owned and operated for three generations. Please contact me at tom.bodall@co.middlesex.nj.us if you are interested in more information. Tom Bodall Research and Curatorial Assistant Middlesex County Cultural and Heritage Commission
