I'm trying to prove the relationship of Elnor/ Ellen Snedeker Conover and her husband Ralph R. Conover to William Conover. The three as well as William Conover's wife, Anna Catherine Warth Conover, are buried together in Terre Haute, Vigo County, Indiana. Elnor and Ralph R. Conover left Newark, Essex county, NJ for Indiana in 1838/39. I have Civil War pension papers for Samuel S. Conover that document Samuel as the brother of Ralph R. Conover and sharing a home in Terre Haute, IN with William Snedeker whom I believe to be either a brother or nephew of Elnor Snedeker. Samuel S. Conover and his wife Sarah Frances Weeks Conover returned to Rahway ,NJ after 1880 and are buried in the Rahway Cemetery. Is Elnor/ Ellen Snedeker, the daughter of John Snedeker and Margart Smock, from your line of Cranbury Snedekers? The death records and obit for William Conover state he was born in Cranbury in Sept., 1816. I need parents names for him. A Vigo County, IN history states that Ralph R./ Rafe Conover was from Middlesex County, NJ. Can a Snedeker help me document the Conovers marriages? The "Book of Snedekers" states a marriage date for Elnor's but no place or further info on the Conovers. Previous research by Kathryn Conover, a descendant of Ralph R. and Elnor Snedeker Conover, would indicate that the Conovers were descended from Harmon Covenhoven, a Cranbury area resident but many of his children are not well enough documented for me to prove this.
