I know very little about Rahway or Colonia area. The only military base I remember is Camp Kilmer which was busy during WWII when I was born but active again in 1956 during the Hungarian Revolution when the refugees came over and stayed there. There was the Raritan Arsenal where apparently there was alot of ammunition dumping etc. going on causing it to become a major hazardous toxic site. This was kept quiet during the years that so many companies had warehouses there and thousands of employees were exposed to that mess not knowing anything about it.
