From my notes, I see that Benjamin was still in operation in the 1890 NB City Directory at 128 Burnet. I also see him in the 1899-1900 Directory. The Farley Blacksmith Shop was located at 69 Burnet. In 1865-66 there was also a William Browne located at 27 Burnet. New Brunswick had MANY blacksmiths between the mid 19th and early 20th centuries. The photo you have, is that from the book or one from your family? I would be interested in seeing a scan of it. I know there is a photo of the Farley Blacksmith Shop with the three brothers who owned it standing outside, taken in the 1960s. I wonder if that's the same one or one similar? If it is permissable, it may be suitable for our display at the East Jersey Olde Towne Village. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
