Reply to Robert Decibus Dear Mr Decibus I checked a couple of sources online and found the following information, which I hope might be helpful to you. The Social Security Death Index provides information on the deaths of a Virgil and Bernice Williams, both of whom resided in Edison, Middlesex County. Their information follows. It appears that Virgil Williams died 30 January 2002. He has an estate on file in the Middlesex County Surrogate's Court. That file can be ordered directly from the Surrogate's Court by mail. They will need the Docket number that appears in the search results below. If you ask for a copy of the Petition or Application, it will list all of Virgil's children and their addresses as of 2002. Copies are about $3 per page. There was an obituary published for Virgil Williams in the Newark Star Ledger on 31 January 2002. The information from the obituaries (below) is only part of the text of the obituary and the death notice. If you are handy with the computer, you can order a copy of the obituary and the death notice online from the Star Ledger for about $3. You should also be able to get copies from the Newark Public Library, New Jersey Division. They can be reached by phone at 973-733-7775. The date and page information for the obituary follows so they can find it for you easily. It appears that Bernice died 27 July 1999, based on the listing in the Social Security Death Index. I didn't see anything to suggest that she had an estate file in Middlesex County. I also didn't see anything in the online archives to suggest that she had an obituary. I hope that this information will help you to get the rest of the information that you need. Sincerely Joan M.
