Hello. I'm new to this list. I'm researching several families in NJ, but right now I'm focusing on the SILVER family who settled in Burlington Co. in late 1600's, moved to Monmouth Co. in 1700's, then to "New" Windsor by mid 1700's, when it was part of Middlesex County. I'm having trouble finding any records on this branch of the family, and I thought maybe it was because Windsor later became part of Mercer County. Does anyone know where I should look for information - Middlesex County or Mercer County? I'd appreciate any advice. Thanks a lot. Also, I'd like to join a historical society, and I saw several listed. Does anyone have information on which would be good? I saw one for Central New Jersey and one for just New Jersey.
