    3. Roberta, The CODDINGTON family goes way back to the beginnings of Woodbridge Township in 1669. I'm sorry to report that the earliest known local tax list to survive starts in 1824. However, the New Jersey Historical Society has on microfilm "New Jersey Education Tax Rateables 1778-1832", and the originals are supposed to be in file in the NJ State Archives. If he was a land owner or head of household during the years you specified, he might be listed.
