    3. Although this is in reference to Monmouth County, there appears to be Middlesex Co. connections. In 1932, Florence E. Youngs published a series of articles in the Toms River, New Jersey newspaper regarding Monmouth patentees - giving not only basic history but covering in subsequent articles, family information as well. Family surnames given focus are: Bowne, Clarke, Spicer, Tilton, Holmes, Grover, and Stout. I am copying the articles to a word processor (gradually) and can attach a file to an email if anyone is interested in the contents. This was a twelve or thirteen week series. The articles are not short. They ran from August 26 into November of 1932. In the same issues, by the way, is a column called "Old Times Along the Shore." I can see that there are lists of Reovultionary soldiers in some of the columns. I believe this column is by Edward Salter...at least some of them are so titled. There is quite a bit of colonial era history in them - I did not order those columns; therefore my copies are incomplete and cut off. Perhaps they are in book form.
