Hello Everyone, I am working with a Coombs cousin trying to unravel our Coombs line. Last week she went to Trenton and we believe she found a connection between the COMBS family and Matilda HULIT daughter of George Hulit of East Windsor. George died in 1815 and we found a reference that said the estate was not settled until 1837. Our theory is that Abner COMBS married Matilda HULIT about 1816. Our problem is that Trenton Archives does not have the reference we need and they were not able to tell us where to find it. I am hoping some one more experienced with NJ records can help! It is called Middlesex County NJ Heirs to Estates from Partitions and Divisions filed at New Brunswick--1780--1870, the file numbers are #9532 and #9533. Perhaps further complicating this is these people lived in East Windsor which was Middlesex and is now Mercer. This has been the toughest line for our family for years so I would greatly appreciate any advice or guidance! We are desperate to find this reference! Thank you for your time! Kathy
