I'm new to this list and am researching my VAN LIEW and related ancestors in Middlesex County. My gggrandfather was Rev John C. VAN LIEW, born 2 Jan 1807, who married Mary Adeline (van) WAGNER in 1829, but I'm not sure where or exactly when. They show up on the NJ 1860 Census, living in New Brunswick, but I can't find them anywhere after that date. I believe Mary VAN LIEW died 19 Oct 1863, but I don't know about Rev. John C. I'm pretty sure he was the son of Johannes (John) VAN LIEW and Magdalena WYCKOFF, who married 21 Nov 1780. "The Van Liew Genealogical and Historical Record," by W. Randolph Van Liew, lists a Rev. John Cannon VAN LIEW as their son. However, a list of members of the Dutch Church at New Brunswick shows a John Cameron VAN LIEW a few lines above "Mary Adeline VAN LIEW, wife of Rev. John C. VAN LIEW." Does anyone know what this Rev. John C. VAN LIEW's middle name actually was - Cannon or Cameron? And was the Rev. John C. VAN LIEW who married Mary Adeline (van) WAGNER, actually the son of John VAN LIEW and Magdalena WYCKOFF? I would appreciate any help anyone can give me. Thanks, Jean M Foster jeanfoster@uky.campus.mci.net
