Hi Everyone, Here are the names that I am researching and seem to have it a very very thick brick wall with each of these names. Nicholas Suydam/Sedam b. 27 April 1782 in NJ d. 28 July 1871 in Rock Island Co IL He married 25 Sept 1807 in Bernards, Somerset, NJto: Rachel Ann Runion/Runyon b. 26 June 1789 in NJ d. 19 Dec 1863 Rock Island Co IL On their marriage record their names are as follows: Nicholas Suydam and Rachel Runion. As Nicholas left NJ he was spelling his name Sedam. Nicholas and Rachel were married at the Presbyterian Church in Basking Ridge. I wrote this church and they said they have no other information about this family. I do know that the church did not start keeping records until about 2 or 3 years before they were married there. The Suydams were a religious family so I would think that Nicholas would have been baptised somewhere. Plus if they were so religious where is the baptismal records for his children that are being born in NJ? The children that were born in NJ are: 1. William Suydam/Sedam b. 13 Sept 1808 2.
