Thanks for this opportunity! I am new to Middlesex County research, have been chasing my elusive COOMBS ancestors through Mercer, Burlington, and Monmouth Counties. I have Harrison COOMBS born in 1816 in NJ, I am researching a family I believe to be his--Abner COMBS and wife Matilda HULIT(still working on proof of her name). Abner was born in Monmouth in 1780, but was in tax lists and selling off land in East Windsor in 1819 and 1821 at the time this was Middlesex Co. His father was listed as James COMBS. Matilda was born about 1795, her father was George HULIT of East Windsor. He died in 1815. One son(of Abner/Matilda) James COMBS was born in Hightstown in 1821-23. Any one familiar with these families? I would also welcome ANY advice on researching records in Middlesex. I live in Burlington County and there are very, very few resources for Middlesex in our libraries, the other counties are fairly well represented. Thank you for your suggestions! Kathy
