I found an index of marriage announcements that appeared in newspapers of New Brunswick NJ possibly from the Rappleyea and Covenhoven branch of my family. The announcements name the minister but not the church or location of the church. Can anyone give that information on the following marriages: 1. Richard Rappleyea married May 24, 1795 to Miss Ellsie Covenhoven, both of Somerset County. by Rev. Barclay. Guardian or N.B. Adv. 5/26/1795 2. Nicholas C.Lefferts of Bedford, L.I. married March 21, 1822 to Miss Mary Ann Rappleyea, daughter of Richard Rappleyea, near New Brunswick, by Rev. Ludlow. N.B. Freedonian 3/28/1822 3. George Rappleye, Jr., of vicinity of New Brunswick married November 21, 1821 at Middletown, Monmouth Co., to Miss Elizabeth Smock, daughter of Garret Smock of Middletown by Rev. S.A.Vanvranken. Times and N.B. Adv. 11/29/1821 I also found a number of people named Rappleyea in the burial records of Willow Grove Cemetery in New Brunswick, but not Richard or Alice (Ellsie). I suspect their religion was Dutch Reformed and seek information about churches of that denomination that would have existed in the New Brunswick area from 1770-1830. thanks in advance.
