Before phones were in common use, they served to let people locate one another and local businesses. I don't know what years are available, but I do know that the books are old and delicate, and some no longer exist. If you are in the New Brunswick area, I would advise you visit the Special Collections and Archives in Alexander Library. I worked my way through a pile of these directories, found something in a later issue, then went through them a second time for other cousins' names. This, you can't really ask of a reference librarian. Plus, there's nothing quite like seeing these books for yourself. Over and out, Rob
