Louisa SOMMERVILLE) Cornelia (adopted, m. ?? HAY) Seeking exact date of birth for Richard R. Rappleyea and information about his parents and grandparents. There is a lot of information about people of this surname for the 17th and early 18th century, but I have found nothing for the 19th or late 18th century that would allow me to make a link-up with my ancestors. D.A.R. lineage books show many people descended from Jeromus and Jacobus Rappleyea of New Jersey, but no link to Richard R. There is a (unconfirmed) family rumor that my ancestor fought on the "wrong" side of the American Revolution! I would also appreciate any information about the wife, Cornelia Anderson Rappleyea, and her family.
