I am posting this to this list as I was hoping that someone might be able to point me in the right direction to find the noted cemetery or any other information about this family as it appears there are some definite ties back to Woodbridge NJ. I am looking for information on a Cyrenius MORRIS. In a biography of his grandson also Cyrenius MORRIS the son of a Crowell MORRIS is the only piece of information that I have found, and that is the following. "Cyrenius MORRIS, a native of New York, who became a saddler and harness-maker. His wife Hetty EVANS, a granddaughter of Reuben EVANS, who was an admiral in the Revolutionary war. Cyrenius MORRIS died in New Jersey and his wife in New York state, but they are buried in an old cemetery at Woodbridge, New Jersey." This family appears to be the last of the MORRIS family in New Jersey/New York area after that it appears that the direct family moved to Carroll, IA and then on to CA. I would also like any information on his son and grandson, both with the names of Crowell. I only have sketchy information from that one bio. Dates are the one big thing that is missing from the Bio, however. The date that the bio was printed is 1912 and the grandson was born in 1842. From that I can guess that the Cyrenius I am looking for was born about the 1800's or before. This is such an odd name I was hoping that would flag someone's attention. That I have found there were two Cyrenius' and two Crowell's and they are all related and within three generations of each other. The people that I am directly related to are the Crowell's and the Cyrenius Sr. The bio does also state that Cyrenius (grandson) "traces his ancestry back to Lewis Morris, a signer of the Declaration of Independence." however there is no other information that is given in the bio.
