I did send an email out to you at the email address you gave. I would be very interested in any information you have. In searching census records I did see that 3 generations owned the shop. My Great Grandfather's ( Philip) brother Patrick seemed to be the one that took over and then his sons after him. I remember my father who's name was Cornelius V. Farley talking about a Henry Farley who was a cousin, and that he was still living in New Brunswick in the late 60's. When you have the opening would you let me know. I'd like to come down for it. Thanks again Patricia

The Farley Blacksmith still stands in Johnson Park, as part of the East Jersey Olde Towne Village. I am currently developing the building into an exhibit about blacksmithing and the Farley family. The building was actively operated in New Brunswick until 1960, when it was moved to Johnson Park. It was also operational there for a short time. In the 1970s it became part of the East Jersey Olde Towne Village and has not been opened since. We plan to open it once again in late spring/early summer as a permanent exhibit. I have done quite a bit of research on the family connected directly with the shop. It was family owned and operated for three generations. Please contact me at tom.bodall@co.middlesex.nj.us if you are interested in more information. Tom Bodall Research and Curatorial Assistant Middlesex County Cultural and Heritage Commission
Hello All, I just came across a nice map of the state of New Jersey from "historic" times. It's up on my website if anyone is interested. I believe all of the old towns are represented. http://www.midatlanticarchives.com Alan RESEARCHING: Buckingham, Gilpin, Eastburn, Jeanes, Nowland, Wade, Creswell, Vansant and related families -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Either he or my aunt graduated from Jamesburg High School, the other graduated from Hightstown High School (I never remember which one graduated from where). My dad graduated in 1968 or 1969, and my aunt would've been a year or two ahead of him. My Dad's name is John Kutch, but everyone calls him Jack, and my aunt's name is Barbara. I don't remeber which road they lived on, but if you know Jamesburg, I could probably describe the area. The brick house is now a center for Autistic children and there is a water tower across the road. My dad often tells stories of going for ice cream after church and stopping at Medokers bakery. My grandparents were married at Holy Trinity in Helmetta in 1947 and my grandfather was the sexton there for many years. My Dad moved to Virginia in the late 1970's and his parents moved from Jamesburg to Cranbury about that time, to a house on Old Trenton Road. My grandfather is now at the Elms Nursing Home in Cranbury, and my grandmother just passed away on Sunday. My grandfather used to have a nursery business, called Kutch's Nursery, which he ran for nearly 50 years I'd say. A lot of people know him. Well, this has been a fun trip down memory lane. If anyone remembers any of my family, feel free to contact me and I'll tell them you said hi. Amanda mander@virginia.edu Troy, VA
