Author: racheledw Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.newjersey.counties.middlesex/901.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I'm not sure if this information will help, but it's a start at least. An excerpt from a compilation of Noe Family History in Middlesex, New Jersey, which was compiled by my grandmother's aunts and uncles. "New Jersey Noes in the Revolutionary War: Amos, Andrew, James, John, Lewis, Marsh, Peter and Samuel enrolled in Militia in Essex Co., NJ. William B. Chitwood, Abraham Noe, and James Parker all in same unit. From Official Register of the Officers and Men of New Jersey, by Stryker, Vol. 2, page 704. Isaac's fourth son, Abraham, may also have been a revolutionary war soldier. His great-grandson, Jeremiah B. Noe, had a musket which was reportedly carried by his grandfather in the Revolution." I know it sounds inconsistent and isn't really informative, but maybe it can help. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: Bob_MacAvoy Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.newjersey.counties.middlesex/4101/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Joseph Church, Civil War veteran, died 8/16/1883 in Perth Amboy. I suspect that he is buried in the Christ Church Cemetery in South Amboy with his wife Kate who died in 1925. The Cemetery records are sketchy back that far and the Cemetery cannot say whether he is there or not. Also, there is no tombstone for either of them. His NJ death certificate reveals no location. If there is an obit for him in any of the local papers it may reveal his burial place. I do not need any copies or documentation just the name of the cemetery and the reference used. 2. Hi William, Yes, this information does help but the Richard is the wrong one. The Richard Coryell/Coriell that I am looking for married Fanny Spencer and he died 18 Mar 1845 in Warren, Somerset Co. NJ and is buried at Mt. Bethel cemetery. Usually his name is spelled Coryell. I can't seen to connect him with parents. Thanks for trying to help. Roberta Summers ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.

According to his 1911 death certificate, his parents were Charles Smith and Maria ____, from PA. The New Brunswick City Directory and the 1870 US-NJ Census shows a Mrs. Maria Smith in the household, which I assume was his widowed or divorced mother. She is not there in 1860 or 1880. I have not found either Charles Jr. or Emeline in 1850 in either PA or NJ. I have found in 1850 Census a Charles Somers Smith age 52 & spouse Maria Wilhelmina Paleske age 51, plus daughter & son-in-law in Lotus Ward of Philadelphia, but have no proof that they are the parents of my Charles. "Charles Smith,b1829 PA (Philadelphia Co.); parents may be Charles & Maria Smith. Author: mrbellbrook Surnames: Snedeker, Conover, Warth, Weeks, Smock Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.newjersey.counties.middlesex/300.1.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I'm interested in Cranbury Snedeker and Conover lines. I'm trying to prove the relationship of Elnor/ Ellen Snedeker Conover and her husband Ralph R. Conover to William Conover. The three as well as William Conover's wife, Anna Catherine Warth Conover, are buried together in Terre Haute, Vigo County, Indiana. Elnor and Ralph R. Conover left Newark, Essex county, NJ for Indiana in 1838/39. I have Civil War pension papers for Samuel S. Conover that document Samuel as the brother of Ralph R. Conover and sharing a home in Terre Haute, IN with William Snedeker whom I believe to be either a brother or nephew of Elnor Snedeker. Samuel S. Conover and his wife Sarah Frances Weeks Conover returned to Rahway ,NJ after 1880 and are buried in the Rahway Cemetery. Is Elnor/ Ellen Snedeker, the daughter of John Snedeker and Margart Smock, from your line of Cranbury Snedekers? The death records and obit for William Conover state he was born in Cranbury in Sept., 1816. I need parents names for him. A Vigo County, IN history states that Ralph R./ Rafe Conover was from Middlesex County, NJ. Can a Snedeker help me document the Conovers marriages? The "Book of Snedekers" states a marriage date for Elnor's but no place or further info on the Conovers. Previous research by Kathryn Conover, a descendant of Ralph R. and Elnor Snedeker Conover, would indicate that the Conovers were descended from Harmon Covenhoven, a Cranbury area resident but many of his children are not well enough documented for me to prove this.
