I moved to Delaware about 30 years ago. I learned to fly at Westfield Airport which was on Lake Avenue in Colonia was in the newpapers because I took and airplane up legally on my 16th birthday alone on Friday the 13th. That airport is gone too. Oak Tree Road was an extension I guess you call of Green Street which came off the circle in Woodbridge under the railroad in Iselin then up the hill toward south Plainfield, passing Dutch Meile's Place, I met Joanne Campbell there one evening. I have been away from Jersey about 14 years now and trying to visualize Oak Tree Road, New Dover and Wood. It's amazing how easily you get your areas and especially streets mixed up after several years. I will have to check with my husband...he's from Metuchen, I am strictly Brunswick. Hadley Airport was in South Plainfield. The remains of it are alongside 287, there a couple of hotels there and a White Castle. The airport in question was between Oak Tree Road and New Dover Road and Wood Avenue the GSP went right through it. I believe it was some sort of a feeder for the military as in the area was a BASE which took up much of Colonia. Little known information. Sarah was born in South River, and died in South Amboy in April 1849. She was the daughter of William Furman. I have no information on Henry, and he appears to have died prior to the 1840 census.
