Hi Lisa Thanks for your offer. Will you see if there is any mention of the name Nesbitt? Shirley
Hi Lisa, That is nice of you to offer to help. Would you have anything on Joshua Spencer. Thanks. Roberta Summers.
Hi Everyone! I have a book called "Middlesex County-Heirs to Estates 1780-1870" . If anyone wants me to look up a name, just email me. Lisa Babyboymax@aol.com
Hi everyone, I am ultimately trying to find out if these houses are still standing. Anybody in these areas know? 189 Patterson Street, Perth Amboy, NJ 5 Maple Drive, not sure if Jamesburg or New Brunswick, NJ Much appreciated! Lisa Babyboymax@aol.com
Hi-in my family notes, my gr aunt Helen Weisfeld used to stay in NJ in a cabin on the beach until polio hit, and she mentioned the ASHLEY's from NJ a lot to my mother. One name mentioned was Laura ASHLEY and she supposedly was my mom's first cousin once removed. And my gg grandmother Elizabeth McKENNA THOUROT had raised an Elizabeth Ashley, possibly Laura's mother(?) I am looking for any data on ASHLEY, especially any who may have lived in Iselin, Woodbridge Township, Middlesex Co., NJ or may still be there and be descendants. Thank you, Happy Trails, Joan

Today we found that she was a widow. The 500 pound price paid to the governor to allow the marriage was paid by William Jolly. Was he her father? Brother? Is anyone researching the Jolly, Warner or Scoby families in this area in the late 1700's? The Scoby lot moved on into KY, TN, MO. Any info would be welcomed. For general information on the Moore or Moores of Woodbridge, the best reference is Patty Myers' "Ancestors and Descendants of Lewis Ross Freeman", (Penobscot Press, 1995). Dally's "Woodbridge and Vicinity", originally published in 1873, also contains a good bit on Samuel Moore and the early families. Which one? Matthew's or Samuel's? Just what do you want to know -- names, etc. And how much do you already know? I have quite a bit on the Moore and Moores. Chambers book is one of those available to subscribers of Ancestry.com [though the scanning they did on it leaves much to be desired]. My caution about that book is to check it out only for clues. It has numerous errors, (but not as blatant or numerous as Monnette!). I am interested in A look up as well in the following book... The Heritage of the 1st. Presbyterian Church of Metuchen", Thom. Weber One set of my 3rd great-grandparents, William Woodward 1782-1839, and Nancy Miller 1788-1877, were married in the Presbyterian Church in Metuchen, Nov. of 1807. And if there is any one who is researching Woodward/ Millers in Middlesex......Please contact meat Marypaul@tgi.net Thank you M.J.Petersen
Would anyone have access to the following two books? "The Heritage of the 1st. Presbyterian Church of Metuchen", Thom. Weber "1st. Settlers of Piscataway and Woodbridge" If so, would you be so kind as to check the index for the surnames HOLCOMB(E), BERGEN, FAUROTE/FOROT/FOUROTE. Thank you. Lily
I would STRONGLY recommend that you NOT look in Monnette's First Settlers of Piscataway & Woodbridge. There are so many errors and false leads in it, I don't think it is even worth looking at for "clues". Harman Clark -----Original Message----- From: L. Hi, Does anyone know who might have the book "Early German Settlers of New Jersey"? I am looking for the Tunison family mentioned in the book and would like copies of the article. Thank you, Roberta Summers.
Hi, I am searching for a copy of a land deed for property in Cranbury, Middlesex County. I know the exact date of when the deed was made and who the buyer and seller were. Where do I write to get it? This goes back to July 14, 1881. Lisa Babyboymax@aol.com
Hi All: Looking for any information on a Samuel Smalley, b. @ 1805-10. Possbly the son of David D Smalley, probably from Middlesex / Somerset counties. Samuel married Clarissa ?. They moved to Philadelphia @ 1835, with their two children, George and Caroline. I have much info after they arrived in Philly, but I need to make the New Jersey connection, and verify Samuel's mother and father. Thanks for any help. Tom
Hello Everyone, I am having the same problem that Beth wrote about a few days ago on this list. I am trying to research two families in the East Windsor area with not much success. Any suggestions on where to find Middlesex records? It seems to be the worst represented NJ county at my library--no books at all! Specifically I am researching the families of George HULIT and Nancy or Ann RUNNELS/REYNOLDS and Abner COMBS and Matilda HULIT. Thank you. Kathy
