    2. I am searching for any information on STEPHEN HOOPER who moved from Middlesex County, NJ about 1820 with his 2nd wife, ELLA/ELLEN PRALL and five children from his first marriage to Sophia (------). The first stop I am aware of was in Wheeling VA (WVA) where their son Clement was born. My gr gr gr grandmother, Caroline Hooper Maynard was born 31 Dec 1827 in Belmont County, OH. I have several Deeds for Stephen Hooper and Ann/Nancy in Middlesex County. I believe this Stephen to be Stephen's father. I would like to place Ella/Ellen in a Prall family, and also am searching for proof of Stephen's birth (ca 1788) to Stephen and Ann/Nancy. The information that I have so far places them in the area along the Raritan River, at Cranbury Presbyterian Church, and some in Perth Amboy. I would like to share information with Hooper/Prall researchers. Anne Benson

    1. Public School No. 1 Records c. 1904, South River.
    2. Kendrick Kreations
    3. Hi Everyone! I have confirmed information that my grandfather, Felix Michael RING (born 1893) attended school in 1904 at Public School No. 1 in South River, Middlesex County, NJ. His teacher was Teresa SMITH. My grandfather was born with the surname KWASNY, but used the surname RING his entire life. It's possible that while living in the South River area, he resided with relatives with any of these surnames: BLOCK / BLOCH / CARROLL / DEKWECZ / KWASNY / RING. It is quite possible Felix lived with an aunt, Clementine BLOCK or RING or KWASNY. I am searching for Clementine, along with any information or records on Public School No. 1 in 1904. Numerous emails and countless long distance calls to the school district proved fruitless. Sources also confirm that Felix's family once lived in Patterson, NJ. I am particularly interested in Felix Michael Ring's school registration papers. If anyone knows of a historical society or library that might have school records, please email me. Or, if someone would PLEASE do lookups (I live in Florida) for the school records or 1905 census records, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all for your time, and any responses. 2. Hello, Is anyone out there researching the COLLINGS/COLLINS/COLLENS family in Perth Amboy, Middlesex Co., NJ? I have a hunch that I might be related to John Collings who lived in that city in the late 1600s and early 1700s. He might have been the father of Joseph Collings who appeared in Middletown, Monmouth County, NJ, marrying Rachel Dorset in 1720. Any tips or suggestions will be immensely appreciated. We've added a whole host of new features, including Historic Wings e-mail accounts -- what we call, AviatorMail(tm). This is but the first in our upcoming series of Interactive offerings which should culminate in FREE member webpages in the not-too-distant future. - AviatorMail is offered with six languages to select for the interface, including even Swedish! Furthermore, if all goes well, AviatorMail will also be one of the the first truly international e-mail services with an add-on option to have digital translation services just a click away. Imagine typing your message in English and at the click of a button sending it in French, Spanish, German, Italian, and Portuguese (for your Brazilian friends) or vice-versa. ********************************************************************* AVIATORMAIL DEBUTS! Historic Wings now offers FREE web-based e-mail services for aviators, adventurers and people with spunk. The mail interface is available in six languages and should soon also provide an option to add real-time, online digital translation services. This is the coolest mail account you've ever seen. On September 21, 1953, Lt. Kum Sok No of the North Korean Air Force defected to the South in a MiG-15. It was an incredible moment for the USAF. Up to that time, the closest any of the pilots had come to a MiG was when they engaged one up by the Yalu River. It was a fine airplane, they knew, but what were the weaknesses? When Lt. No came calling at Kimpo AFB, Seoul, Korea, the cat was out of the bag... 3. >In an ideal world (which we all know doesn't exist) there would be plenty of >donors willing to supply the cash to maintain historical sites; in the "real >world" that we live in, often the cash isn't there. People have to choose >their priorities for what to do with their discretionary income, and they may >have others that are more important than historical preservation. It's a shame >to lose old buildings, but sometimes their owners have no choice. In this case, I believe that it's the latter, the congregation has a new church and was supporting the older church building. I was hoping that we had a member of the congregation on the list or at least someone who lives in South River who knows the inside story. The newspaper that published the story did an incredibly "fluffy" piece, there was no "meat" in the story whatsoever. To me, the destruction of a historic landmark and the selling off of a "priceless" stained glass window from the church for $5,000 deserved a better news article than what was in the paper. I did receive a few emails regarding the subject but I've been extremely busy this past week and haven't had the time to sift through them yet. Glenn G.
