    3. A fellow listmember answered my MacSpaden inquery with a suggestion I contact St. Peter's Church . An ounce of discretion makes me ask if anyone here has done that , as I have not yet written to any churches in my research yet. If anyone has done this , could they please post the method and the results of their queries? Mahalo-Kevin

    3. Hi All, I just signed on and am interested in the Runyon families, in particular a Henry Runyon, married to a Sarah. I have no other information except he lived in New Jersey and most likely Middlesex, Monmouth or possible Essex (Newark) counties. Henry and Sarah had a son Hugh Runyon (1819-1897) married to Harriet Louisa Haslettt (1822-1896) and or Harriett Fletcher (1821-1896). Any information would be greatly appreciated. Bob Runyon

    1. Re: Baptist Cem./Piscataway
    2. Judy and list, I found a listing of graves while I was at Salt Lake City last year which was titled:, "STELTON CHURCHYARD RECORDS". this was found on LDS Film # 868276, Item #3. I only have four pages of this list (should have copied the whole thing!), but on it is: Hezekiah Smith, died Oct. 6, 1801 in his 88th year Sarah, widow of Hezekiah Smith, died July 2, 1804, aged 85. Hezekiah, son of Peter & Sarah Smith, B. April 17, 1825, D. Jan. 20, 1844 Peter Smith, D. Feb. 2, 1853, aged 58 years, 1 month, 28 days Sarah D. Stelle, widow of Peter Smith, D. Apr 20, 1890, aged 88y 5m 24d (These are all listed together, just as I have typed them. Above them on the page are Holcoms and below them are Holcom/Holtom. On the next page is a David S. Smith, B. Mar 30, 1821, D Jan 18, 1863. On the page following David S. is: Abigail L., wife of David S. Smith, died Jul 10, 1861, aged 37 years David S. Smith, died Jan 13, 1863, aged 39 years, 9 mos 14 days (NOTE: looks like two different stones for David!--and yes, one was read as Jan. 18th and the other was read as Jan. 13th) Unfortunately, there are no "Price" listings on these pages. There is a notation that says, " A number of the oldest grave records are completely obliterated". I, too would like to know if there is an "Old Reading" of this cemetery which lists information of the stones which are now "obliterated". Does anyone out there know? Hope this helps. Gayle

    1. Baptist Cem./Piscataway
    2. Hi: Does anyone know if the cemetery inscriptions for the old 1st Baptist Church Cemetery in Piscataway have been published? Is the cemetery still there and if so, what is it's condition? Hezekiah SMITH is said to have been buried there in Oct., 1801, and I'm searching for a burial site for his daughter, Esther (Smith) PRICE, who apparently died a widow in 1799. It's an assumption on my part that she was living near her father at the time of her death. Thanks, Judy Tooman

    1. New Policy
    2. Glenn G. Geisheimer
    3. Hello Middlesex County Researchers, As you know new "wrinkles" come up from time to time that I have to deal with. Recently I received an "advertisement" for a Genealogical forum to be held for a fee by a non-profit organization. I've discussed this with some other listowners and found out their policies. As of today the new policy for this type of "advertisement" will be: The "advertisement" must be for a non-profit organization promoting a Genealogical event. It must be specifically aimed at the Middlesex County Genealogist. It must contain the following information: Name of Organization Address of Organization Phone number of Organization Location of Event Purpose (including date, time and topics) Name of Contact person Email address of Contact person Fee, if any MOST IMPORTANTLY - the "advertisement" for the event cannot be directly posted to the mailing list. It must be sent to me, as list administrator, for approval. When approved I, not the submitter, will post the message to the mailing list. Anyone who posts an advertisement to the mailing list will be subject to being locked out of the mailing list. I believe that I have covered most bases to protect the users of this mailing list from any unnecessary mailings. If anyone has any further suggestions please send them to me in a private email. As for any paid researchers, please send me the information and I will post it on the Middlesex County Genealogy Web Site. One further note, as you are aware of the Middlesex County Mailing list, as with all Rootsweb Mailing lists, is now a closed mailing list. This means that you have to be a member to post to it. This new policy of RootsWeb has saved you from four spam attempts in the past two weeks. The best one was from a World Famous (self proclaimed) Psychic. My question was, if she was a World Famous Psychic, why didn't she know the list was a closed list and her spam wouldn't go through. : ) Thank You for your cooperation, Glenn G. 2. John Cresseveur
    3. Hello Everyone, I'm new to the mailing list, but have been researching the family for almost 30 years. Interested in any information on the Till family in general, and Peter Till (my paternal g,g,g-grandfather) in particular. A deed from Morris County lists Peter, from Piscataway, purchasing land in Morris County on April 10, 1804. Pension records from National Archives list Peter as a member in the Company of Captain Baldwin, Regiment of Colonel Shreves(?), New Jersey Line. After nine months service, he subsequently enlisted for five months service in the Company of Captain Sparks (Spanks?), Battalion of Major Shirtz(?) (? = eligibility of copies of pension records received.) Any information on the above will be appreciated. Additionally, any information on web sites relating to Middlesex County, other than those on Cyndi's List or RootsWeb, will also be appreciated. I have extensive information on the Tills in Morris and Essex Counties and will share freely. Thanks for any help. John Cresseveur - Bardstown, KY

    3. Judy -- are you familiar with Patty Myers book on Ancestors and Descendants of Lewis Ross Freeman (1995)? From that, and other references, I have some data on Jeremiah's descendants.
