Edward was the son of Francis Barber of Elizabethtown, NJ. Francis came to Elizabethtown in the 1660s. There seem to be quite a few Barbers in Middlesex area early on, but I see no evidence that anyone else is researching them. If any of you have interest or knowledge about these Barbers I'd like to hear from you.

Hi there! I'm not sure how much you can gain from this but I searched for your OTTO WECK in our CADI (California Death Index) and found him listed. Perhaps with this information you can get an obit or death certificate and learn more about his family. There was only one other WECK listed as having died in 1954 so just for kicks I've included him here - maybe a relative?? Parents names are not always listed in the CADI. WECK OTTO J Born - 02/14/1894 in NJ Mom -BAUER Dad -WECK Died - 02/18/1954 in 27 (Monterey County) SS# - 154-07-1501 Age -60 WECK WALTER Born - 11/10/1879 in RE (= REst c/b out of the county or just unknown) Dad - WECK Died - 04/08/1954 in 38 (San Francisco County) SS# - 552-44-8388 Age - 74 If you can come up with some idea of the date of death for Maud (Karley/Kuydendall) WECK I can search for her for you, if you would like. If you want this search and have her DOB, it would help the search. The CADI that I have covers years 1940-1997. We have a really wonderful RootsWeb list CA-DEATH-INDEX-L which has the most talented and willing volunteers you will ever find. As the name implies, this list is for California Death information (CADI, Obit's, DC's). You might want to join this list - give them the information from this CADI search and maybe one of them can get you an obit or Death Certificate transcription. To subscribe to the list in mail mode send a message to CA-DEATH-INDEX-L-request@rootsweb.com that contains the word subscribe and nothing else. If you prefer digest mode, you should send the command instead to CA-DEATH-INDEX-D-request@rootsweb.com. Posted on: Middlesex Co. NJ Query Forum Board URL: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/NJ/Middlesex?read=1042 Surname: Luke, Decker, Ryerson ------------------------- I read in the Middlesex query board about Luke researchers unable to connec their ancestors. Maybe this will help. My ancestor, Aaron M. Decker born 1786 had a brother James Decker who married Jane Luke. Her father was John Luke and they went to Crawford Co, Ohio in the 1830's.(Maybe this John was the one in the Revol War from Middlesex Co,NJ?) While researching these Deckers we learned that Ann Ryerson married an Abraham Luke who changed his name to Decker. This was in Morris and Bergen Cos. Abraham Luke/Decker who married Ann Ryerson died in Wanaque, NJ. Children of Abram purportedly: Abraham b 1778, John b. 1780,(Not Jane's dad-too young), Martin b 1781,George b. 1783,Jame b. 1785,Jane b. abt 1791 in NJ. william Nelson on pp 311-12 of "History of the City of Paterson and Co. of Passaic says that 2 daughters of Abraham Luke married Deckers: Jane m. Decker; Rachel m. Covas Decker. I know of a Luke who is looking for information. I am looking for information on Aaron's Dad, Peter Decker, one wife Styntie (possibly more than one) Hope this helps. NJ Query Forum Board URL: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/NJ/Middlesex?read=1040 Surname: Plumley ------------------------- Does anyone have any information on John Plumley, a 70yr old farmer showing on the 1850 Middlesex Co., S. Brunswick TWP census? He would have been born about 1780 and might also have spelled his name Plumbley. That census also shows a Benjamin F. Plumley and wife, Sarah living with John along with their seven children, Samuel, William, Sarah, Benjamin R., Abraham, Addison, and John A. Benjamin and Sarah were still living in Middlesex Co. for the 1860 census. Any help with these Plumley's would be appreciated. Thank you.
I understand that there is a Middlesex County History. I am unsure of th author, but know that it was several volumes. I was wondering if anyone has access to this History or another, and if they would be able to copy the sections of East Brunswick and Perth Amboy. I would certainly be happy to pay copying and mailing costs. Thanks so much. Patrice Houck Schadt
Hi Folks, Received the E-mail below from another mailing list. John Cresseveur - KY ----- Original Message ----- Ancestors, the highly successful PBS series, is back with an updated format and 13 new episodes shot on location around the world. The new series emphasizes the world of records, making it an exciting research tool for beginning and seasoned genealogists alike. But Ancestors is more than simply a how-to PBS series. The project includes a number of educational materials, including: --an instructional website, with links, downloadable research forms, and information about record types (often as video clips!) --an online teacher's guide, designed for grades 7-12 or community education programs --am instructional guidebook, a step-by-step guide to the research process family historians follow --instructional videos, designed especially for use in classrooms and other teaching settings. I just found some information about my ancestors Eliza Haggerty and Henry McSpaden. The witnesses at their 1851 wedding in New Brunswick were George Hagerty and Sarah Hagerty. Witnesses at the baptism of their daughter Helen were Daniel Hagerty and Catherine Howten. Would these names be familiar to anyone? Mahalo , Kevin
