    3. Just a reminder! In addition to the NJMiddlesex GenWeb page (http://www.rootsweb.com/~njmiddle), there is another resource for Middlesex Co. that you may have forgotten about and that's the Resource cluster at Rootsweb. The url is below. http://resources.rootsweb.com/USA/NJ/Middlesex/ Part of that cluster is a full suite of GenConnect Boards. It's a great place to post questions (QUERY BOARD ONLY!) as well as a spot to enter wills, deeds, bible records, obits and bios. It's simple to use, free and permanently archived. We all have (or we should have) some of this information in our genealogy programs. That information could prove useful to many others...if only they could find it! There are over 200 of us on the list. If each of us only posted one (1) item to the appropriate board think of the database we'd have started!!! Don't wait! Just DO it! Now! If you have been a lurker on this list...one of those folks who "hide in the bushes" and never post, how about letting the rest of us know who or what is your Middlesex County "Most Wanted". Someone might just have an answer for you! To unsubscribe from the list: Email (from the same address you used to subscribe) NJMiddle-L-request@rootsweb.com (for list mode) NJMiddle-D-request@rootsweb.com (for digest mode) Put only the word UNSUBSCRIBE in the BODY You should receive a confirmation that you've been removed. Thanks for your attention. Pat Mount

    2. kirby heard
    3. please excuse a previously 'bad' post. I'm looking for clues on doing deed research in Middlesex county. looking for several in mid-late 1700s. are these indexed & available for copies? does one go through the courthouse or is there a repository such as Manalapan has in Monmouth? or would they only be found at NJA? I'm not in NJ and would like to do the research long-distance, if possible [the set-up at Manalapan is *very* user-friendly!] thanks for any help any other researchers can provide. kirby in NC looking for the father of Thomas KIRBY b1725 and where he may have come from [and others]

    1. [NJMIDDLE] New Brunswick Trolley
    2. Hello Listers. My grandfather, John J. Meany, was the motorman of the Easton Avenue trolley on the night of the famous Hall-Mills murders in 1922. He was one of the last people to see Charlotte Mills alive, dropping her off at the end of the line near DeRussey's Lane in New Brunswick. He testified at the trial in Somerville in 1926. I'd like to know more about his job as a trolleyman. Does anyone know the name of the trolley company that owned this line and where I can find additional information about it? Thanks. Bob Meany

    1. [NJMIDDLE] Rappleyea graves
    2. Mary Hobein
    3. I have written to the Dutch Reformed Church of 6 Mile Run (Franklin Park) NJ concerning death or tombstone information on my Rappleyea ancestors but have received no reply. I have that there is a church cemetery about a mile away from the church. If anyone happens to be in that area researching in cemeteries, I would appreciate any information on the following people: Richard (Dirck) Rappleyea (ca. 1769- Ca. 1829) and his wife Alice (Elsje) and other relatives of this couple. I believe that Richard's parents were Jerome and Mathilda Rappleyea and his grandparents may have been Derick and Antje Rappleyea. Richard and Alice had children named Jerome, Joseph and possibly Mathilda. Cornelius and George (Joris) were also common names in this family. This cemetery is not copied into the Somerset County Historical Quarterly and I have not found it on LDS microfilms. if anyone knows where tombstone inscription or any kind of records after 1805 can be found for this church, please let me know. (I have found baptismal records 1743-1805 but nothing else.) Thanks much. 1. [NJMIDDLE] Marriage License Applications?
    2. Dear Gentlepeople, I'm trying to figure out where I might write to obtain a copy of my deceased grandparents' marriage license application (ca. 1943 or 1944). They were married in Fort Dix - I don't know if that's within the scope of this list, but since this is the list I belong to, I was hoping some good Gentleperson might know the answer anyway. It's really the license *application* I'm interested in, not the license itself, but I checked the vitalchek.com website anyway. The NJ Vital Statistics Office says that copies of marriage licenses will only be issued to "parties to the marriage" - does that extend to include the next of kin, when the primary parties are deceased? (I do have their death certificates, in case proof is needed.) Thank you for your generous help, and stay safe and warm. Sherill

    1. [NJMIDDLE] MORGAN's (+ WARNE's) of So. Amboy, NJ
    2. Hello I am researching Daniel MORGAN who m. May 17, 1787 to Elizabeth WARNE, dau. of Joshua WARNE and Meleny DISBROW. Daniel might be the Daniel MORGAN listed in the So. Amboy 1793 census. There were 3 other MORGANS: Charles, James and John Does anyone have any information on the MORGAN family/families of So. Amboy? I believe that my 4th great grandfather, William MORGAN who m. 1816 Elizabeth OGDEN might have been the son of Daniel and Elizabeth (WARNE) MORGAN. My William Morgan was of Randolph, Morris Co,, NJ in 1816. There was a William Morgan taxed in Randolph from 1816-1818. There also was a Daniel MORGAN taxed there in 1816-1817. The only other MORGAN was a Philip, taxed 1806 and 1818. Joshua WARNE, in his will left....direct my executors to pay unto my two grand sons Joshua Morgan and William Morgan, sons of my daughter Elizabeth Morgan, dec'd the one fourth of the moneys arising from the sales of my Personal estate to be divided equally between them, one year after my decease, or until they arrive to the age of twenty one years...p.273 *** this coincides with William Morgan having land in 1815***** William Morgan would have been about 23/4, and possibly his younger brother Joshua might have been a minor, so his father, Daniel, might have purchased the land in Randolph for him, hence, the tax records in Daniels name. Or, father, Daniel might have bought land with his son in Randolph. I'd greatly appreciate any help with this family. I have been searching for years for clues. Thank you. Tracy
