Annie already had a daughter, Gussie Agnew, and the couple later had at least one child, Ethel, in 1890 who married a George Spencer. Annie was alive in 1920, a widow at age 75 and living with the Spencers in New Brunswick. I've got ancestral information on the Southwards back to 1737.

The plot was purchased in 1922 by my g-grandmother (I'm guessing) because that's when one of her sons died and it's the oldest date on the tombstone. I had contacted the cemetery to find out if my grandmother was buried there and they directed me to the site. Now, since I ignored the letter asking for the money I really don't think I can contact them again. The cemetery is very nice and well-kept. I always thought that the maintenance was included in the cost of the plot. This was news to me.

Searching for Elsie Clair FOLLAND died Nov 7, 1971as resident of Dunellen NJ; born Feb 4, 1892 NYC. I can't afford the $25, fee that the Plainfield Libary charges, whether they find it or not. Sometimes libraries send you just the death listing, not an obit. Most places charge less than this for a death certificate! If someone can do it, I would really appreciate it as I am looking for maiden name of the deceased and names of those who survived her. I can pay something so please contact me offline at [email protected] Thank you very much, Barb

Myers, Special Collections Librarian at [email protected] She confirmes that they charge $25. EVERYONE COMPLAINS ABOUT NYC FEES BUT PLAINFIELD LIBRARY IS THE HIGHEST LIBRARY FEE OF ALL. NYC Libraries charge $8.00 with almost exact date. NYC MUNICIPAL ARCHIVES with old, handwritten copies charges $16. for two year search! FINDING YOUR GRANDMA"S DATE---Call the cemetery where her tombstone is. Tell them her name and year. They should be able to give you an exact INTERNMENT DATE. With that date, you know month and she probaly dies 2-3 days before that. The cemetery should give you her this date on the phone for free. Also ask them how manyare buried in that grave. You might want to order an internment list from them as it will give you exact information about ALL ancestors buried there. Best wishes, Barb

That's a problem for me. The date on my grandmother's tombstone is 1933. How do I start looking for the exact date? My mother had been born at the Muhlenberg Hospital about 3 years before her mother died sometime in 1933. I think she died of complications from gallstones, not sure. I'm kind of at a dead end. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks. Linda

FYI AOL is again bouncing mail from Rootsweb mailing lists and many of our subscribers have or will bounce off the list shortly. This is an on-going problem and not one that list administrators can do anything about. AOL subscribers have to contact AOL and let them know that Rootsweb messages are legitimate and wanted. I'm really biting my tongue here.......... Pat Mount List Admin
