Hi list, this is my first post to this list. I'm hoping there is someone here that can help me or direct me to the right place. I have HARRIET MCCOWAN (one document shows it as MCGOWAN) was born in 1840 in Trenton, NJ; she was daughter of WILLIAM L. MCCOWAN and MARINDA MATTHEWS, but I have not confirmed this information. One source shows WILLIAM and MARINDA as being born in Allegany County (spell?), PA. At this point, I would like to find out more about HARRIET's birth and birthplace.
