    1. Gershom Mott Esq / Lamberton, NJ 1819
    2. Dova Wilson
    3. 1. Thanks to everyone that answered my query about Lamberton, NJ. For anyone else who was wondering it is not the current Lambertville or Lumberton. It is currently part of the South Ward of Trenton. Several bits of info. sent to me were that it was the part of Trenton below the Assunpink Creek. It was part of Nottingham Twp, Burlington County until 1856. Someone else said the street in Trenton now called Lamberton Street marks the area. Also, there was a town hall near Lalor & Lamberton Streets. There was a ferry from this area to PA, near the Yardley/Morrisville area. 2. A follow-up to my earlier query regarding the marriage in Lumberton. Does anyone recognize the name "Gershom Mott Esq" and know whether he was a justice of the peace or a minister with a church affiliation? Once again, married in Lamberton, NJ in 1819 a Miss Ann Vanzant and Mr. Steward Wilson by Gershom Mott Esq. It was reported in the Daily True American, a Trenton newspaper. It also said they were both from Bucks county. Any information I can find about this couple would be terrific. I am trying to figure out which Vanzant sister of Cornelius Vanzant and Margaretta (Vanzant) Closson married a Wilson. This Wilson/Vanzant marriage should have at least 1 child, Courtland B. Wilson, b. 1822 in PA. ***** Other possible relatives/additional clues I've come up with include: 1. Margaretta Vansant (1796-1877)m. Wm. Closson (d. 1863) she was born PA 2. She had a brother Cornelius Vansant (1809-1889)died in Trenton 3. Other possible siblings include Ann Vanzant m. 1819 to Steward Wilson both of Bucks county, married in Lamberton, NJ near Trenton. 4. Ms. Ann Vansant to John S. Hinkle m. 1825- second marriage? Death of Steward Wilson?? 5. George Davis of Trenton, NJ to Miss Elizabeth Vanzant of PA m. 1828 6. Mr. Thomas Winder to Miss Susan Vanzant all of Bucks county m. 1820 Trenton. 7. I found a record on www.familysearch.com from the IGI Records of a Margaret Vansant baptised 27 Dec. 1796 in Southampton Bucks PA. Child of William Vansant and Jane Bennet. 8. The same source as in #7 gave me info. on a Cornelius Van Sant of Bucks born 1751 d. 1816 in Makefield PA who married Mary Ann Larzelere. He was the son of Isaiah Van Sant and Geertje (Charity) Van Horn. Does anything look familiar? This Cornelius could be the father or grandfather of my Cornelius listed above b. 1809 Dova Wilson Communications Officer IREX dwilson@irex.org 202-628-8188 x544
