Hello, I found out a few years ago that my gr grandfather's brother William W. COOMBS was in the State Hospital in Trenton in 1900 and died in New Lisbon Hospital in 1905 from Heart Disease. We had always been told he lived at home. He never married or had children. My understanding was that these records have not survived 100 years and because of privacy issues nothing would be released anyway. On my Vermont mailing list at the moment is a big discussion on the wonderful records people are getting from the various mental institutions from decades ago. Is it possible to get any records from the State Hospital in Trenton? Even just dates when William was admitted and released would be great. How would I contact them? Thank you for any help.
