hi all, i'm new to the list and i have some questions to start me off. i'm looking for Edwin Nelson WOOD whom i believe was born in NJ in 1820. i have found an Edwin WOOD who was the same age in the 1850 census in Nottingham, Mercer Cty. the wife was not what my records have but then i found and Edwin in a history book of Mercer Cty that had no dates but said he was married 3 times. it gave his 1st wife's name but no others. my questions are: what records are available for that time period (1820-1860) for that area? what churches would have been around during that time and are their records available? (i don't think they were catholic because my Edwin was a Mason but i'm not ruling it out yet). how about cemeteries? land records? i'm really stuck on this branch and i'd love to connect the Edwin i have later in life to the one from Mercer. thanks for your help! diane
