Hi Bertha, I asked my mother-in-law if she remembered any candy factory and she wasn't sure, but suggested a couple of possibilities. One was Shirley Ann (or Ann Shirley) that may have been on East State St. There was also Fannie Farmer on East State, but another early possibility was "Allfathers", which she remembers as having made Easter candy, but she thinks they were on Warren or Willow. She remembers that everyone waited for their Easter candy, especially their chocolate-covered, coconut, yolked eggs. I looked in the 1920 Trenton city directory (online) and found: "ALLFATHER CANDY CO, 335 N Warren, William Allfather pres, Eugene E Allfather v-pres, William L Allfather Jr sec-treas" Good luck. They made an assortment of candies. I remember Mom's stories about Chocolates and how jellybeans were made. > Bertha Hall > Plainfield, CT.
