    1. Cemetery "List"
    2. Dan Conner
    3. Hi All! Would anyone know if it is possible to obtain a "list" of people buried in the "Old School Baptist" cemetery and/or the Higland cemetery in Hopewell, NJ? That is, if such a "list" exists. Also, am I correct to understand that there was a Baptist church in Wertsville? Would there be a cemetery there as well? And a "list", maybe? One more thing . . . would Wertsville have been in Mercer Co or Hunterdon? Thank you! :) Dan in Nebraska

    2. Dear Kathleen Tynan, In a message dated 07/09/2000 4:20:57 PM Central Daylight Time, you (REDTYNAN@aol.com) wrote: << I am researching the following names in NJ , PA & Ireland. Mine started with Georg HOFFMAN (1821-1904) from Darmstadt, Hesse, Germany, who is buried in Riverside Cemetery, Trenton, NJ. He was married to Margaretha Roller (1823-1899), from Baden, Germany, who is also buried in Riverside Cemetery. Together they had 9 children: John Philip (1849-1850), George (1851- ?), Catherine (1853- ?), Charles Phillip (1855- ?), Phillip (1857-?), John (1859-?), Margaret (1861-?), Jacob (1863-1921) and Anna Eva (1866-?). Their son Jacob was my grandfather. I have a picture of Georg and Margaretha with the last 8 of their children which I am willing to share if this is your family line too. Also would like to compare and share other information on this family. Hopefully, Esther Wright San Antonio, TX ewright210@aol.com

    3. FYI, We've added a new feature to the Mill Hill History Page (http://oldmillhillsociety.org/history.htm), as well as, more data in 2 of the existing categories. The new feature contains information from the annual chronological index published by the Trenton True American. These indexes were published for the years 1856 thru 1891 (1856 & 1857 are on-line) and contain a range of information, including some death notices. (http://oldmillhillsociety.org/research/chronoindex.htm) Another chapter of the History of Trenton, "Landmarks, Taverns, Markets and Fairs" is now available. 1. Parade or Parade of Youth, Woosley, Gardner
    2. Anita Clayton
    3. My uncle, David Gardner, entered a contest in Parade or Parade of Youth and his second place winning answers to eight "life questions" was evidently published in that publication 18 Jan 1837. Does anyone know what it was? Was it a magazine or part of the newspaper? He got "fan mail" from all over the country from people who liked his answers, mostly young girls, he was 19 at the time and evidently in question #8 he said he didn't like girls who smoked and drank, and some young men who felt the same also wrote and a few men, one even had a job offer from North Carolina. He also praised farm life and nature and old fashion values, in the question answers, from the content of the letters. Since they lived at Edgebrook, Hamilton Township, Mercer Co. I am wandering if it was in the Trenton papers, but I have not looked yet as I just found the letters. One letter was from a George Woolsey, 218 Park Lane, Trenton who said he thought they could become close friends and pals because even though he lived in the city, he used to live on a farm that his family owned for 200 years and his desire was to become a chicken farmer, too. I'd like to hear from anyone related to George Woosley, too, as they may be interested in the letter. Anita
