Pat, There is no Green Street listed in the 1910 Trenton City Directory. The only Green Street I know of in Trenton was spelled Greene & renamed Broad Street in the 1880s. There is a Greenwood Avenue. I also know of a Green Lane in Ewing Township but I'm not sure how old it is. Thanks to all for the memory jog. It was Fannie Farmer candy factory on East State. I have been trying to remember the name for about a month and kept drawing a blank. Bertha Hall Plainfield, CT.
My grandfather was also in the candy business around that time - I'll see if I can find out any details. Hi Bertha, I asked my mother-in-law if she remembered any candy factory and she wasn't sure, but suggested a couple of possibilities. One was Shirley Ann (or Ann Shirley) that may have been on East State St. There was also Fannie Farmer on East State, but another early possibility was "Allfathers", which she remembers as having made Easter candy, but she thinks they were on Warren or Willow. She remembers that everyone waited for their Easter candy, especially their chocolate-covered, coconut, yolked eggs. I looked in the 1920 Trenton city directory (online) and found: "ALLFATHER CANDY CO, 335 N Warren, William Allfather pres, Eugene E Allfather v-pres, William L Allfather Jr sec-treas" Good luck. Hey Bertha, how are ya up there in CT? I miss seeing your postings. Was it the Belle Mead Candy Company? You can still get their metal tins on ebay. My grandmother is 92 and she remembers packing chocolates around the holidays when she was young. I believe it was located off Pennington Rd, somewhere in the area of the reservoir. Back in the 1930's my mother worked at a candy factory that I believe was located on East State St. My mother told me stories about working there, but I don't remember the name of the company. They made an assortment of candies. I remember Mom's stories about Chocolates and how jellybeans were made. Bertha Hall Plainfield, CT.

Greetings Listers! Does anyone have access to a membership list for Alexandria First Presbyterian Church, in Milford, Alexandria Township, Hunterdon County? I'm hoping to find evidence of a few CONNER's: namely, William, James, Elizabeth, Ely, and Jonathan. They should have been there in the 1820's and 1830's. Thanks, Dan Conner
FYI, Thanks to the hard work of Judie Grzenda, another year of the Trenton Obituary Index is now available. It can be found at: http://oldmillhillsociety.org/research/obits/1911OBIT.htm Not only has Judie input the names & dates from the Trenton Sunday Advertiser's weekly death column, but additionally the addresses, ages & relatives where they were listed. I'm sure the entire Mercer County Genealogy Community joins me in thanking Judie for her contribution. Gary Nigh
