This FREE, award-winning historical festival is fun for the entire family. New this year, visitors can bring their treasured heirlooms to an antiques appraisal, be entertained by "Levram the Great" - the Colonial Conjurer; watch the Tuckers' Tales Puppet Theatre perform "I'll Take No Tea"; take the GPS Heritage Cache Challenge and participate in the "Are you as Smart as a 4th Grader?" game. There are plenty of hands-on activities for kids and adults, from learning the art of paper marbling to participating in historical games; to plowing a furrow and raising a scale model barn. The fair will include appearances from Martha Washington, the 78th Army Band Jazz Combo, the songs and stories of canal boat captain "Cappy Hummel," and the likes of Walt Whitman, Molly Pitcher and Benjamin Franklin, among many others.
