As far as your question about whether the original records in Hunterdon would reflect the birthplace of these people, I would have to say that you MIGHT get a clue from them, but only a very general one. I am looking at a copy of a page out of the register of marriages from 1853 - 1854 that contains the marrriage record of one of my collateral ancestors. By this time (which is the same period as you are looking ), the registers had become more uniform, and there was a blank for the place of RESIDENCE for the bride and groom, which was not necessarily their birth place.
