Hello Janet, I have been following your search w/ interest. My grandmother was from Hungary her maiden name was Dienes pronounced DENNISH !! They went by Dennis in NJ. There are various spellings in the records. So I went on a search for you. I did find your 1880 census .. your Joseph & Elizabeth were listed as from Bavaria (Germany). I found the 1900 census ....the only census with the birth month listed !! I found them in the 1900 census .. spelling is DENISH (one N). They were in Mercer Co Trenton city. Your Joseph was born June 1826 .. Elizabeth was born July 1832 .. they were married 45 yrs or married abt 1855 . They arrived in 1857 !! They were married in Germany !!! they arrived here married. Joseph was naturalized ( you can get a copy of his papers.) I am not sure just what info would have been on the papers back then. Joseph was a fruit dealer @ age 73 .. still working. Living with them was Anthony born Nov 1878 , he was single.. George born June 1890 he was a grand son . Still 1900 Census ... Spelled Dennish .. Joseph born Sept 1876 age 23 married 6 yrs . born NJ parents born Germany.. he was a miller & rented Carolina (wife) born Oct 1876 .. born NJ parents born NJ Mary ..
