Dear Janet, Found no mention at all of the name DENNISH in the Deats book. There was one marriage of a Joseph DENNES and an Ann Clark on 31 Oct 1812, however it seems likely that was merely a variant spelling of Dennis. I suggest that you need to search in MERCER County. While that area was at one time part of Hunterdon County, the borders changed from time to time until Hopewell finally ended up permanently in Mercer County in 1838.
