    2. Marshall is absolutely correct. For some additional online records try going to www.raub-and-more.com. Click on the link for Baptisms, Burials and more. Scroll down through the Baptisms and burials to Marriages. There is a listing for marriages performed in a Methodist Church in Easton, and an index to vol. 1 of Warren County marriages. Also some more records from various churches in the Warren county area. I assume you've checked PA marriage (and hurch and newspaper) records. It's really odd that I cannot find a marriage record for my Gt-Gt-Grandparents. They are both mentioned in the Op Dyck Genealogy book...and I found property transactions as well. They lived on Tunnel Avenue at one time, and then owned/operated the Still Valley Inn out near Straw Church in the 1860's. -Rita On Feb 20, 2012, at 7:33 PM, Susan Pena wrote: > I looked at 3 different sections of the 1986 book and did not find these > names. 3. I thank you all for your thoughtful comments. I've been trying to find the parents of Jacob B. Vliet for over 12 yrs now. I'm very familiar with the 'Raub-and-more' website....the Vliet cemetery near Person Rd...and Find-a-Grave....but thanks for mentioning. I've googled various 'church marriage records' until my fingers feel bruised (LOL!). Jacob's death certificate (1879 Bethlehem Twp) shows his father as a "Garret Vleit" (so spelled on Certificate, but not unusual to see various spellings). The Certificate also shows "Warren County" as his birthplace (circa 1812). We all know that Warren was still "Sussex County" up until 1825.... so perhaps I should mosey on up to the Sussex County Courthouse. I'm just wondering why Jacob B. Vliet doesn't show up in any searches of Sussex documents...ugh. Also, Barbary herself came from a well-known Opdyke family in West Portal. I do know he was involved in land transactions between the Willevers and other Vliet's in the area. One of his descendants is a DNA match with a direct descendant of Capt. Daniel Vliet of Bloomsbury/West Portal. The first son of Jacob & Barbary (unless there were previous that died young) was named William.... and their first daughter was named "Lydia." Naturally that leads me to think of Gen. Garret Vliet and his wife Lydia Eckman...but Garret & Lydia already had a son named Jacob (who married Mary Thatcher). Soooo..... my quest continues. ;o) -Rita On Feb 21, 2012, at 11:06 AM, kaysfo@aol.com wrote: > > Marshall is absolutely correct. For some additional online records try going to www.raub-and-more.com.
