My Swishers came to PA from Loudoun Co., but it is sketchy before that. They ended up in northern Columbia Co./southern Lycoming Co., along with many who emigrated directly from Hunterdon (one family actually lived in "Jerseytown") so I've often thought that they may have originated in Hunterdon. I have been following your thread from N.J. to Va. While I have not spoken up previously, Daniel Kitchen (my ggg grandfather) apparently followed a similar route, going from N.J. to Virginia (a large territory at the time), and then to Ohio, where he was given land, due to his service in the Rev. War.
