    3. The discussion here of the Sinclair family with a Snyder connection sounds too familiar to me. Have any of you heard of a Robert Sinclair, who married an Emeline Van Camp? Robert was born c 1795. Emeline was younger, b c 1813. Emeline's grandmother Margaret (Kiple) Van Camp, was first married to a John Snyder. With both family names in the same area, I would think there could be a family connection. Unfortunately I know nothing about the Sinclair family before Robert. I have only that this was Emeline's 2nd marriage, her first being to Aaron Norcross. They had one child (Jacob Norcross) before her marriage to Robert Sinclair. Emeline and Robert had two known children Charlotte, b c 1837 and James K, b 2/11/1841. Eventually Emeline and the children show up in Sweetland Twp. Iowa, along with Emeline's brother Kiple Van Camp. I do not know what happened to Robert. Some records indicate he died when the kids were small, but I am not at all sure about that information. In IA, the family is buried as Sinkler, rather than Sinclair. Emeline and her 4 siblings were orphaned at a young age, and there seems to be a huge brick wall that many researchers so far have not been able to break. If any of this is familiar to you Sinclair researchers, I would love any information! Thanks, Amy G.
