    2. Neither Henry Smith or wife Jermima are mentioned in the index although there are other Smiths. I thought I should mention they also cross reference alternate spellings as well: Shmith, Smyth, Schmid, Schmidt, Schmit, Schmidedt. So it looks like there were German as well as English Smith families in the area.
