    2. Many of my ancestors came down from Newtown Long Island to Maidenhead and Hopewell area, Hunterdon Co. NJ as well - I 've always heard that there is a book called the "Annals of Newtown" but I've never seen it....it would obviously not go into Hunterdon Co. and those that came here but it is supposed to have quite a bit on the major families of Newtown. I've often wondered what the initial reason was for so many of the Newtown residents coming to Maidenhead NJ - possibly it was just following their neighbors and friends..... my most notable families who made this transition were the Phillips and Hunt families.
