I've been following this thread closely looking for a connection, as I also have a John Myers from Lambertville born around 1835! His civil war pension records from when his wife Cylinda is trying to collect, mentions his father's name was Abraham and left him to go out west when John Myers was a small boy. I did find an Abraham D Myers in the 1850 census for Lambertville but I would think he would be gone by that time as John would be around 15 in 1850, and he was suppose to leave when he was a small boy. Although on the LDS site they do have an Abraham D from Lambertville who died in California in 1872, and had two wives. The children listed for Abraham and his first wife list a JOhn Gillingham Myers born 1816, so this could not be my JOhn. Abraham's first wife died in 1844 so it doesn't look like my John would have been from the second wife.
